How to Send Money in Nigeria  through Moneygram

To send money in Nigeria through Moneygram, follow the simple steps below:

  1. Go to the nearest MoneyGram agent location, there are usually banks in Nigeria.
  2. Go along with the required information:
    1. Sender’s name, Phone number, address
    2. The receiver’s name and country
    3. Amount in Naira
    4. Acceptable means of identification (see required documents)
    5. Test Question and Answer, where applicable
    6. A maximum send limit of 1,000USD Naira equivalent per customer per quarter, as stipulated by the Central Bank of Nigeria.
  3. To send MoneyGram, customer must provide a duly completed Send form with the following information above and give the agent the completed form with transfer fee with a limit of 1,000 USD Naira equivalent.
  4. You will get a payment receipt which contains your 8-digit transfer reference number.
  5. Send the transfer reference number to the recipient.

Note: if you want to send money to the recipient’s bank account, you also need to bring the recipient’s bank name and account number.

How to Receive Money in Nigeria through Moneygram

To receive money in Nigeria through Moneygram, follow the simple steps below:

  1. Go to the nearest MoneyGram agent location, there are usually banks in Nigeria.
  2. Go along with the required information:
    1. A valid  or acceptable means of identification (see Required  Documents)
    2. Transfer Reference number. (8 Digit Reference Number)
    3. Receiver’s first name and last name
    4. Expected Amount
    5. Sender’s name and country (city to be included for transfers coming from the US)
    6. Test Question and Answer (optional for first bank)
  3. To receive MoneyGram, beneficiary must complete a Receive form – the form will depend on the bank – providing the information above.
  4. Hand the completed form with your valid photo I.D with the transfer fee to the agent.

How to Transfer Money to Nigeria through Moneygram

To send money to Nigeria through Moneygram, follow the simple steps below:

Step One

Receiver will provide the following to the sender

  • Account name, First Name and Surname
  • 10 digit NUBAN account number
  • Bank name

Step Two

Sender in Account Deposit enabled country will complete a send form indicating account deposit option and providing the details supplied by the Receiver.

Step Three

Transaction is completed and Sender will get instant confirmation from the MoneyGram system if transaction is successful or not.
